Martin Harris

I just love these verses.

Um, starting in verse 11, "The vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, 'Read this, I pray thee.' And he saith, 'I cannot, for it is sealed.'" And then skipping ahead to verse 14, we have the beautiful story reenacted with Martin Harris taking the, um, letters that Emma and Joseph Carr wrote out and s-- he took, I think there were four copies made, and he took one of them back east, and Dr. Mitchell and Anthon and a few others were able to look at them and claim that they knew how to read them or claim that they wanted to read them when they didn't know anything of re- Egyptian.

We didn't even have the Rosetta Stone in that day, you know? This is all what this is talking about.

But verse 14 says, "Behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder." This is the Book of Mormon.

So this is a lot of people reference.

And again, it's bigger in the JST version, but they reference this with Martin Harris and Charles Anthon because he says, I can't read a sealed book.

That's where when we studied that in the Doctrine and Covenants, this is where those verses come from.

And that's a beautiful way to read this.

Those whose record is included in the Book of Mormon will speak as if it were out of the ground as one with a familiar spirit, 2 Nephi 26.
