On October 21st, the federal and Ontario governments announced approximately $8 billion in funding commitments, being widely reported as a $9 billion package.

These are multi-year investments, some building on existing funding programs, not immediate payments to workers.
The governments say their strategy is to protect Canadian manufacturing and reduce our dependence on the American market.
On the screen is a Government of Ontario press release and a Canadian HR report article.
