Timeshare Tuesday Recap Live! Week 35, 2026

And the number one topic for the past week is FBI plus Florida law enforcement DOJ warn about timeshare exit and resale scams.

So the breaking news here is the FBI has finally discovered the timeshare scams that Tug has been screaming about for the past 30 years.

None of this stuff is new.

None of this stuff is groundbreaking.

None of this stuff is, you know, that hasn't existed for the past multiple decades.

The real big changes is, you know, now some law enforcement is starting to catch wind of this or it's starting to impact more people that we now see more law enforcement putting more resources and effort into this.

Maybe not combating it, but at least in this case, announcing it.

We'll take what we can get.

Obviously, not a good track record for law enforcement.

Again, I don't want to knock anyone in particular, not a particular state, but just not an overall good effort by law enforcement at all to track down and combat timeshare exit scams, timeshare resale scams, timeshare scam scams.

These things just prolific in this industry.

Fleece owners from hundreds of millions of dollars each and every year.

And the one or two that get busted year in and year out, just really just a drop in the bucket, unfortunately.

Very, very sad.

Hey, Ed, thank you so much for tuning in.

Thank you very much for spending your Tuesday night with us and hearing us talk about timeshares.

As mentioned, all these scams are the same flavor, different flavor of the same soup that has been served for decades in preying on desperate owners.

We like to say that there's a timeshare predator just waiting for you at every stage of timeshare ownership.

There's someone looking to take advantage of you and take money from you buying a timeshare.

There are people looking to take advantage of you and take money from you selling a timeshare, trying to get rid of a timeshare.

There's no lack of people trying to to mislead you and part you from your money.

You know, the laws exist to protect this.

The problem is not so much the laws.

It is the enforcement of those laws.

And unfortunately, going after timeshare scammers is not not really high on elected officials priority lists.
