The topics we're going to discuss tonight, hopefully a little bit entertaining, hopefully a little bit informational, and hopefully not too depressing as we discuss some very, very common topics not highlights of the timeshare industry but it's important that we cover these topics as each and every person that watches this stuff uh and has questions about it or is confused about it we are going to clear all that up right now and we are going to get started with a fantastic announcement and that is the tug marketplace has now topped 51 million dollars and successfully sold timeshares.

Now, this statistic has only been kept track of since we went to the new version of the marketplace, probably in 2009, 2010, somewhere.

All of these successfully sold timeshares get entered into sales history records and it's tracked on the website.

As long as an owner marks it as sold on the website, it will be tracked as sold on the website.

Uh, the marketplace only tracks this information if the listing is marked as sold.

And I rest assured that if we listed, uh, the price for every single timeshare that was posted on tug and owners that don't come back and market is sold or it just expires, that number would be infinitely higher, probably an extra zero or two, uh, on the end of that.

Uh, It is important to note that while these numbers are truly amazing for an owner website, it's just important to note that this wild number of $51 million does not mean that every timeshare has meaningful resale value.

We run the gambit on Tug, and unfortunately, while most timeshares are worth zero dollars and some are even less than less than zero.

Some have significant resale value in the case of DBC or some really, really high end Marriott's or Weston's.

But, you know, the cold reality of the fact is, is, you know, You just can't put a shoe, the same shoe on every single foot.

It's super, super important that just like buying a timeshare or trying to sell a timeshare, you need to be realistic and you do your research to figure out exactly what your timeshare can fetch on the resale market.

We always, always, always... come down to the point that the reason most timeshares fail to sell is that the owner is completely unrealistic or completely out of touch with the resale market and are trying to list it for a price that is just not competitive, that is not going to attract any potential buyer.

And unfortunately, in some cases, even offering it for free in most cases is not going to attract a buyer because you have countless others also offered for free.
