Susan TamHostYeah, I would definitely love to see F1 coming back to Malaysia so that there won't be a gap in the prices of the tickets for locals and Malaysians.
I would say, like, what they...
I think for, in Johar Baru, they do, like, this Tour de France kind of thing, like a similar version, but I mean, something similar scale I would like to see in KL as well.
At the end, if you look at the Ironmans to all these kind of global events, it's the more you invest, the people abroad also coming, which means that your tourism is also going to boom in that sense.
So definitely, I think it's depends on what kind of ROI they're generating from these events.
It's, uh, definitely something that the government needs to invest.
Okay.
As of now, my answer would be no.
And I feel like it's because Malaysia really needs to beef up a lot of public infrastructure before we can really proudly say that we can have, like, a world-class F1.
An example of a kind of world sporting event that was run very, very, like, good was the 2022 Qatar World Cup because the public transport was really, really good.
They had volunteers, like, pretty much at every public space to make sure that people know where they were going.
They knew, like, what was the most accessible ways for them to get to, like, the stadiums and stuff.
I feel like that's what we need right now if we were to have or, like, consistently host F1, you know? Because a lot of the issues that people had with this recent F1 were it was really the same.
Like, they didn't know how to navigate things on their own.
The buses were really crowded, and, like, people had to walk and wait for really, really long amounts of time before they even found a transport or even found their way back home.
We have, like, a pretty good live music scene here, but it would be really great to have, like, proper festivals.
Again, I feel like it would have to have the same infrastructure protection as if we were hosting a sporting event.
Right now, I've just finished, like, university, and honestly, I've seen how a lot of students who especially are going through, like, public institutions, it's crazy to me that it's 2026 and still a lot of things are lacking.
Housing, things like, you know, getting access to, you know, specific university programs.
Honestly, I don't think hosting these international sporting events should be the number one priority where at home right now, especially for a lot of the younger generation, we have so many needs that are still not met, and I feel like the funding should 100% be going to this instead of, you know, just another sporting event that at the end of the day, like, the top percent of Malaysians can access and buy tickets to when the rest of us are just, you know, living life normally.
So that's my view on that.
that-A lot of F1 drivers seem to have a high regard for our Sepang circuit.
