How has, uh, Switchfoot influenced you? And you could really take that any direction, whether it's like personally or musically.
Dude, I think Switchfoot's just like one of the coolest bands around, you know? Um, it's hard to, it's hard to pinpoint one thing.
Um, I remember seeing them on the O Gravity tour, and um, I was just blown away.
It felt like they were the first band that I saw do away with the boundary line between stage and audience.
Um, and that, that kind of, you know, surreal 3D experience that Jon always gives is, um...
It was really inspiring to see his crowd work and see, um, just how immersive of an experience their live shows are.
And then I think just to the influence of lyrics to, um, try to find new ways to, to talk about concepts that we all struggle with, that we're all familiar with, um, that has always kinda seemed to be a skill of the band.

Yeah, my family and I just saw, uh, we went to the Indiana State Fair and, uh, Josiah Queen was there.

And there was a, uh, there was like a huge beam like way out in the, in the crowd, like for lights, and uh, I saw that and I was like, "Yeah, if this was Switchfoot, Jon would definitely be climbing that later today," [laughs] so.
[laughs] Yeah, probably.

Um, have you had a chance to listen to any of the, the new record, Forever Now?
Oh, dude, I'm so stoked on the new record.
It, uh, it is...
I think there's different seasons for every album.
There's different things to, to enjoy in every record.
Um, but this one feels like it, it scratches that itch that I think the 25th anniversary of Beautiful Letdown kinda left for all of us, you know?
Where we're like, "Oh, yeah, that old like early 2000s rock sound." I feel like they, they kinda lean more into that and...
Yeah, man, I've been so, so excited on, on it.
