Send us Fan Mail The 2026-27 NBA season is here, and we're breaking down EVERYTHING you need to know before tip-off on the Swishlist Podcast. Who's…
Well, let's just start right away with this.
Roman, who's the best player going into this NBA season?
Okay, so I was toying with this a little bit 'cause I feel like you have your top five, obviously.
Okay, what are they?
But the guy to me, he does it on both sides.
He's always done it on both sides.
Coming off a Defensive Player of the Year award, and he went on a Finals run.
He can shoot from anywhere on the court.
I know me and you have discussed him not having really a signature shot or a go-to move or something like that.
Yeah.
But to me, it's undeniable, his impact on both sides of the game and how he sways the game of basketball, and I just don't think there's a player that's better than him, more complete than him in the game.
Yeah, we're in this weird space where I feel like people are saying, "Why don't you talk about Luka?" And, "Why don't you talk about Giannis?" The conversation has moved so far away from those two players.
And for the loyal fans, you guys know how I feel about Jokic, and I'll come out right here and say it.
I think this is going to be the year -- maybe in the regular season you still see some statistical dominance from Jokic, but I think the impact is going to start to fall off.
I just don't think that the, that Denver's going to be able to deliver.
I believe he is going to take the next step.
He showed every sign every year that he is willing to grow and put the work in in the off-season, and I can't wait to see what he's added to his game going into this new year.
I believe he's got a shot to say that this is his league, and that's only gonna happen through dominant, consistent play and a minimum of 65 games.
Well, just to add on, like we talked about with Wemby, I feel like the conversation last year was we haven't seen him do anything in the playoffs, and it was like it was year three for him, so of course we hadn't seen him do anything.
