Navigating Virtual Landmines: Raising Children in the Day of Social Media

I want to continue this topic until I get to my second point.

John 3, because I want to examine...

The possible spiritual landmines that exist in your life before we get to the social media landmines, okay? That's what we want to do.

John 3, 1 through 8, you know this very well.

Now, there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "'Rabbi, we know that you've come from God as a teacher, for no one can do these signs unless God is with him.'" Jesus answered and said to him, truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus said to him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered, truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again.

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but do not know where it comes from and where it's going.

So is everyone who has been born of the Spirit." So here's a man, this man Nicodemus, and you know he's a religious man.

He's a religious leader.

And, you know, he didn't know what he thought he knew.

He was a spiritual leader of the Jews, a good man.

He's an upright man.

He was the kind of man that you would trust at this point in history.

However, he wasn't going to heaven.

So why do I say that? Because he himself...

questions and answers, the questions and answers that Jesus gives him, he never said out loud.

He says, in essence, you must be from God, and Jesus says, you're not saved.

And so I just want you to let that impact.

I want you to let that resonate for a while.

Nicodemus plays along with this metaphor, and he says, you know, it's impossible to go back into my mother's womb.

And Jesus tells him that salvation cannot be gained by the flesh, verse 6.
