Ps Reuben Roos - 27 SEP 2026

I'm so glad to be leading this segment.

And wherever you are across Australia, we're glad you're with us.

And I'm also so glad that Jesus was obedient to his heavenly father.

He came to earth, born of a virgin, grew up experiencing what every person on the planet does, and yet remained sinless.

He willingly went through a false trial, mocked, spat on, ridiculed, died on a cross to pay the price for each of us, even though we were grubs.

And I call myself a grub pre-Jesus.

When I think back to my life pre-Christ, I was fearful yet full of pride.

I was arrogant yet easily intimidated.

I was anxious.

I was isolated.

I would withdraw myself from people whenever I could.

I lived with little thought for others.

In fact, most of my thoughts were about myself and I. That's the unholy trinity.

myself, me, and I.

And when in trouble, I would cry out to God because I knew about him, even though I didn't know him.

But as soon as the crisis was over, I would never give him another thought.

I keep using this word grub, and I'll talk more about that later.

But it's a good description of unregenerate mankind.

Paul said to himself, I'm the greatest of sinners.

And when we look at the life of Paul, it's so interesting.

I'm so thankful that God is able to pull us out of the pit that we often find ourselves in.

In Romans chapter 3 and verse 25, it says, For everyone has sinned.

We all fall short of God's glorious standard.

Yet God in his grace freely makes us right in his sight.

He did this through Jesus Christ when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
