So I take these grocery bags and I'm printing, I'm printing, I'm taking like crumpled pieces of paper and I'm mixing that into the monotypes.
And I'm just kind of like going crazy, doing like weird stenciling things and rolling ink out onto a flat sheet of acrylic, placing down a plastic bag.
And I'm picking that bag up and now there's ink on the bag and there's old ink on the plate and I'm layering things and going back and forth.
I picked some colors I thought were nice because at that point it was getting into fall and I drive a lot.
So like had all these fall colors from that drive in my mind and kind of like resting there.
So like the strange organic palette emerged With all of these strange inorganic shapes I was getting from the plastic.
And I ended up with like 50 monotypes of crumpled paper, crumpled fabric, and plastic grocery bags.
And there was kind of then an exploration of like, okay, well, what's good about this?
