It's gonna be great.

All right, let's start with, you have a BFA in musical theater, right? Yes.

You were a theater kid.

Why have you not done Broadway yet?

It's like four years of a modern.

Thinking about what a disservice we are offering to our students if we are setting them up to go into these BFA programs and they've never once touched that subject, right? They've never once touched that genre.

And granted, maybe you're like, well, I've only trained in it for four years, so maybe I'm not as comfortable teaching it.

But...

So a little bit of a different comp scene for sure, but I grew up competing at conventions in the U.S., so we're familiar with it a little bit.

We preach always.

We're training them for a BFA program for dance upon the studio, and so our highly competitive kids, we go to comp, and they're doing a beautiful, sustained double pirouette like we were just talking about, and then they get beat by... another kid who's on a super low releve who did three turns multiple times in their solo and we can preach till we're blue in the face you're never going to do that in your professional career so it doesn't matter your technique was beautiful your transitions you went through your feet but It kind of coming from us constantly just sounds like, okay, and they're saying this again, but we still lost.

So how do we bridge that? This is our philosophy and we know it works and it's going to get you a job one day to, we are going to competition and we're competitive and we want to stay competitive.

Anyway, me and BFA were talking about that earlier on.

I actually threw this to BFA.

I asked best friend Alex for his opinion on this.

Absolutely.

I mean, you know, there's a, a, a section of our book all about the BFA musical theater, uh, program, and we've done a lot of thinking about it.

You know, I, I actually left Pace as a teacher, uh, almost eight years ago, and, you know, having spent so much time, and I loved that school so much.

I never had swag from UCLA or NYU, but I had Pace swag.

Um, and, you know, observing so many of these young people's success who are now also now in their mid-30s and now are all, you know, uh, it's...

And watching w- what they did, w- hearing sort of from them their experiences, positive and negative.

Um, also learning at a time when sort of things that had been taken for granted at BFA musical theater programs were beginning to be questioned and rightfully so.

Mm-hmm.

But I would actually stream WoW a lot.

I was streaming H1 for a little bit, but then I switched to WoW during, I think, BFA.

Interesting.

Yeah, we played BFA together.
