So I really like the third one because I think that one's a lot less understood about the taxpayer experience.

So it really works very well for folks right now that close very late in the calendar year because then even if they don't hit 100 hours, they can still represent a majority of the hours and qualify under the material participation rules.

I have two technical questions actually that come up a lot for some of my students.

Under the 100-hour rule, one spouse does 99 hours, the other spouse does one hour.

What's the controlling hours from a third party cannot do more than you? Is it that one hour or the 99 hours?
I mean, I think in that example, I would combine the hours together.
So because if you're filing a joint tax return, you're considered one taxpayer.
So it's looking at 100 hours versus everybody else.

The one thing just to add to that, you know, when we talk about the hours requirements, right? 500, 100, and no one else has more time than you or you have more than anyone within everyone else combined.
