Sto challenges Benny to become a "regular" somewhere and it turns out he's been training for this his entire life
It really depends on the setting.
Like there was sophomore year of college when I was a regular at this bar, Amy's, I always drank the same thing, which was, I think I drank vodka gimlets at that point in my life.
Of course, like
every sophomore in college who's not even 21 yet.
They were drinking a vodka gimlet and having a cigar.
That was me and Peter Matsoukas.
That's that's what we were rocking at Amy's.
But this brings up an interesting thing about being a regular, because I also experience having regulars as the owner of restaurants and what a lot of bartenders will do for the regulars.
What will they do?
Give them a deal?
Yeah.
Give you free drinks and expect bigger tips and compensation because they're hooking you up.
And then years later, I become an owner of a restaurant.
It's like, well, okay, you're giving away my booze so you can get bigger tips and hurting my margins.
So you do have to sort of, once you become an owner of a restaurant, it's like, okay, maybe this isn't the right thing to do.
You became the man and then you crushed the one perk in life.
What would your father say about that?
I didn't say I crushed the one perk in life.
I'm just saying I saw the other side of it.
Okay.
And did you get deals? So you mentioned that you mentioned that people would give deals.
Did you get, do you think you got discounts? Do you think you got a, you know, I will throw in an appetizer on the house.
Absolutely.
I have, I have had that throughout my life.
And when I owned restaurants, other restaurant tours around town, there was kind of this reciprocity thing and we wanted to show off our food.
