139. The Truth about Billionaires, Demons, and Slavery Ft. Chris Riker - EPISODE REWIND

I was just about to say

that.

And I want to say one more thing that will differentiate you from me, but that's okay.

I am not seeking anybody to agree with me.

But in my spiritual journey, I kind of have... rejected the trappings of all religions.

I find that they are fine placekeepers while one is seeking, but I think everything's inside.

I think it's human.

I think the soul is a function of being sentient.

I don't believe that it travels.

I don't believe that it lasts forever.

I think we're here for 80 or 90 years and then we're out like a candle.

That does not, for me, reduce any of the things that we've attributed to religion.

I believe it's just within us.

I believe there is human magic.

I think empathy is magnificent.

Love is real.

I think we can see it in actions.

but I don't think we need to define it terribly, terribly much.

And I think evil is selfishness.

It's an extreme form of selfishness.

Even the Bible, which I know better than the other religions, I know Christianity better, even the Bible lists the seven deadly sins and is careful to point out that the first of all sins is vanity, which is selfishness.

I'm better than you.

I'm wonderful.

You must worship me.

You must be like me.

I was just about to say

that.
