One of life’s greatest story arcs is when you grow up fangirling someone famous then actually get to tell them later in life when you become mates - bonus points if they're as lovely as you'd hoped…

Well, one of the great parts of having the privilege of sitting down with you for longer than a radio interview or longer than like an Instagram story is that we do get to touch on not only the incredible pinnacle that you've just reached in your career, but trace through all the shit it took you to get there.

Because I don't think... enough airtime is given to all the chapters where you didn't know it was going to work out or where you didn't know who you wanted to be or what you wanted to stand for.

And we kind of see you coming out at premieres and think, oh, he always knew that this is, you know, all the dots connect now.

But at the time you start as a young kid, you grow up in Cronulla, you go to school, there's all these pressures and the arts is incredibly competitive.

I love to give a little bit more time for those listening who don't know where they want to end up or who might be aspiring young actors and actresses to remind them that it can be really hard along the way.

It can be really great along the way, but there's so many sliding doors moments
But I also think it's okay to not know where you're going to end up, which has been one of the joys of my career and not to derail the interview before the first questions have been asked.
But I think my career is also the reason it looks left and right and so varied and whatnot is because- Opportunities come and you want to see where this adventure takes you.
I talk to Austin a lot about instead of going, hey, what are we going to do this weekend? It's like, what adventures are we going to have this weekend? I love that.
Life has always felt like an adventure and the more you say yes to things that maybe ordinarily wouldn't or you go, fuck it, why not? But then as you get older in your career, well, actually, once I didn't really dial in on what I really wanted to do until I was about 40 or mid, late 30s.
