We're back in the duat yall (for real actually!) and we're steering this boat towards the end of the Throne of Fire! We've got returning guest Darien (you'll recognize them from many amazing podcasts)…
[laughs] We last left off having had our siblings split into two different journeys for their kind of day quests.
Carter's day quest was the sidetrack, find Zia, revive her, and assume that she's gonna join you and be a good friend and everything's gonna go to plan.
It did not go to plan.
They got ambushed by the House of Life.
On the Sadie side, she finished her actual quest.
She got the third scroll for the Book of Ra with Walt, found out his whole situation, dealt with some ghosts.
And at the end of that chapter, we have reunited.
Sadie and Walt are stepping through a portal to go back to where Carter is in danger.
And now we've had a lot of reveals going on in this chapter that are also then kind of, like, unrevealed in the following chapter-

... or, like, later in that chapter when, when Carter goes to sleep.
Um, can we talk a little bit-

... about what's going on with Vlad and with Desjardins?
Yeah.
And how do you guys feel, like, this sort of, like, Desjardins is obviously set up as being, like, our villain in the first book-

... and then we kind of have this, like, walking back of Desjardins in this book.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Talk to me about how you all feel about that.
It's like a Set analog, I think, right?

Like, everyone is more complicated than they seem to be.
