Ordinary Holy | Week 8 | God's Design for Family

This summer series, it's been great for us because we have been going into the ordinary rhythms of life.

Our entire summer series has been based on this Bible verse in 1 Corinthians 10, 31.

Whether you eat...

Drink whatever you do.

Do it all for the glory of God.

In other words, every ordinary part of our lives can become an act of worship.

And see, throughout this whole series, we have discovered that worship is not confined to this room.

Worship is not confined to where you're watching at home.

No, worship, it happens in the ordinary rhythms of our lives.

That's why we have explored, like, Work, rest, friendships, technology, food, all reminders that God cares for every single part of our lives because every part of our lives belongs to Him.

And today we're going to continue in one of the most beautiful and yet one of the most challenging areas of life.

Family.

So let me ask you one simple question.

What comes to your minds when you think about the word family? For some of us, it is laughter around the dinner table.

For others, it might be conflict.

For some of us, it is gratitude.

For others, it might be grief.

For many of us, it is the good mix of good, bad, and ugly all together.

When I say family, I'm talking about all of us here.

And I'm talking about parents giving their best to raise their children.

Grandparents...

Knowing the whole gifts that God has given to you with your grandkids and how you can bring some legacy towards them.

Children growing up in loving homes, but also children growing up in homes full of struggles.

Single parents carrying enormous responsibility.

Married couples fighting their best to build up with this something beautiful inside their homes.
