Nigel BraunHostAnd so now as like a middle-aged man, I have a family and I have a life that isn't just the art and realize in a way that will be very depressing to everybody who's not a middle-aged man, that like nothing that any of us does lasts much past our life.
And you can be like a, like when you, you know, you pull back to a great enough distance and the only musicians left from our time are like, you know, the Beatles and Elvis.
It's like everybody disappeared and you pull back far enough and they disappear.
And if you're, all you're doing is making something so that one day you'll have the opportunity to be happy, you will spend your life miserable.

I feel like it's a little morbid, but sometimes when there's a thing and it's like, you know, it's all this is of this.
And you can't like I am now old enough to not to be looking at the next, you know, 40, 50 years and going like what I don't want to do is spend my life always trying to open up a door so that one day I might have the opportunity to one day maybe be happy as if making any of these things will ever make you happy.
So then you get back to just like the, like, can you, can you, can you, can the art satisfy you simply because you love making the art?

I think that the journey, like the, like the destination is the excuse for the journey and the journey of solving the problems is what is satisfying, not getting there.

I think once you get there, then you sit there and you don't know what you're doing anymore.

I mean, maybe it's different for people, but I feel like the same way where purpose provides satisfaction, not I have done the job.

Like I need to feel like what I'm doing means something, whether it's, you know, taking care of a child or working to pay bills, you know, to go in on a vacation, like all these little things having a result, I think is what makes me the happiest.

not it's like the grind set mindset yeah but you saw you sound like an enormous hustler when you were younger like working basically two shifts like a day shift and day shift day shift and a night shift i guess so i
mean i feel like do you know many like artists in their 20s who aren't kind of just like working for them like i i think
