The Sleeper and the Bust Episode: 1529 – Week 21 FAAB

Uh, Griffin Jax scratched from his start with elbow soreness.

This, this doesn't sound good.

Not great, Bob.

Uh, and it was weird.

They did it a couple hours before the game, so it's something that popped up as he was getting ready for the game.

Because I would say I was in Durham.

Uh, I wasn't in Durham.

I was watching Durham.

They were here in Charlotte, and I went to the game with my daughter, uh, on Friday night, and Jesse Shelton's pitched, and he threw almost 80 pitches in that game.

So if they knew something was up with Griffin Jax, there's no way they let Shelton go that long, 'cause he's l- probably the next guy up.

Uh, that's just where things are right now.

So, uh, it's something that popped up there.

They ended up going with a bullpen game yesterday, and they still won it, uh, 3-2, but I don't know what...

McClanahan's still gonna miss his next start.

He's already rehabbing.

So I figure McClanahan's ready on the back end of the home stand.

Uh, right now, if everything's okay with Griffin Jax, and I don't expect it to be, his next start comes Friday night if he makes that start.

I doubt he does.

Uh, so your options are moving Steven Matz back into the rotation.

X.

No, please no.

Uh, uh, or bringing up, uh, bringing up Shelton to pitch because he pitched on Friday night.

He would be ready for that Friday night start once they come back from this West Coast road trip.

So, uh, bummer news.

Uh, and now, but at least when McClanahan comes back, Peralta would just take over for that spot, and that's where your five is right now.
