And if I just think about what I know about you, how that's showing up and what I know about you is the... ability to take some of this traditional indigenous music you know that just stuff that isn't happening on in the mainstream or just super known like the danique um single that you just had a you just loved and and you heard this vocal i assume and then thought wait a sec i i i hear something else with it i hear some rhythm with this it can it can elevate and i'm gonna do this for myself and I'll let you speak in a sec because you're right here but I assume that you just felt a feeling and no one else was doing it you know like there was no other template for bringing this indigenous music into a like I said hi-fi club ready dance ready space I hadn't heard about it you were my first portal into the weaving and the relationship of both of these components happening at once and what I love about what you've brought through is that it's familiar because of the kick drum.

Thanks to, um, you know, thanks to, uh, well-known music, Michael Jackson and club music and, you know, top 40 stuff.

So that's familiar, but the medicine music on top of that just gave it so much girth and, and meaning.

Uh, That's how I see that lesson early on in your life transcending into that moment.

Maybe take us through that time when you were birthing something for yourself, obviously.
Yeah, I mean, I never had any idea that that particular edit or remix would end up being such a big catalyst in my life and so well received.
Again, I was just following my heart and medicine music as this kind of genre was very much emerging at that point.
Um, and, uh, yeah, I mean, I was just listening a lot and this, this vibration was just grabbing me, you know? So there was absolutely no strategy of like, Oh, what if I like do that? You know, combine these two things.
It was just like, Oh, I like this.
I want to do something with this.
rather than categorically being like, oh, I think there's a niche here that has, you know, it's like there's nothing intellectual about it.
It's very much just like vibing with something and going deeper into that.
And then later, yeah, like later realizing, oh, wow, yeah, I guess that was kind of novel.
I didn't really even realize it at the time.
It was just like music that I liked.
but yeah it's sort of yeah it's set a foundation as you say for kind of a whole movement of um of combining music in ways that hadn't really been combined like that before

yeah yeah and for those that don't maybe understand what medicine music is what would be your definition of it and what was your introduction to medicine music i don't even think i know this about you
hmm Yeah, so for me, medicine music isn't actually really any particular genre or type of sound.
I would say it comes down more to the intention of the artist.
That intention being that this music was created to heal, to heal myself as the artist first and to heal the people who receive it.
So then the question is, well, what is healing? I would say in the most simplest way of defining it, it's coming into deeper alignment.
So if we're out of alignment, that's where disease comes from.
