Join hosts Luke and Caleb as they discuss a battle of the wills in the jungles of WWII Southeast Asia : director David Lean’s Bridge on the River Kwai adapted from Pierre Boulle’s Bridge Over the…
So the, the, the film, The Bridge on the River Kwai, is a, it, it's a movie about, I would say it's probably like a battalion of POWs in World War II being marched across Burma and, uh, sent to a camp where they're going to build a bridge, uh, to help connect a railroad that the Japanese Empire is trying to complete.
And it starts off showing these soldiers marching through the d- jungle, very, very difficult march, and we'll talk about the march historically, uh, as we get into it.
But when they arrive at the camp, they're worse for wear, but they're trying not to let it show, and they're whistling this very famous tune, the Colonel Bogey's March is what it's called, and, uh, I think that's probably what it's most famous for now.
You know?
Yeah.
That, that tune shows up in other movies.
I've, uh...
There's a John Hughes movie that it sh- uh, shows up.
Breakfast Club.

That's right, yeah, yeah
... um, on the Tatooine.
They do the blink blink.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
