For the last 25 years of prestige television, the medium has been dominated by a very specific archetype, the difficult, destructive, but ultimately fascinating male protagonist.

Right, the Tony Sopranos, the Don Drapers, the Walter Whites.

Precisely.

Audiences were basically trained to spend 80 hours deeply analyzing the psychological wounds of violent men, constantly asking, "Why are they like this?" while forgiving their transgressions.

It's in retrospect that they're guest stars.

At the time, they were just either extras or like day players just one-off characters who at the time you were like that is an actor that is a man but then you look back now 25 years later and you're like that's john ham five years before he was don draper yeah so it's like there's kind of a split of like there are definitively some of them who are absolutely guest stars who they were stars at the time and now in retrospect we look back on others of them and you're like whoa how are you in this show this was the I know.

Truly, for some of them, it was the beginning

of their career, which is incredible.

No, this was only a couple years

later.

Five years later, he'd go on to be Don Draper in Mad Men.

And it just feels like, you're like, what? That's Jon Hamm.

Because he is a seemingly perfect pillar of the community, but he's fundamentally hollowed out by a secret.

It's almost like a Don Draper figure, honestly.

Yes, very Don Draper.

But instead of just wrestling with existential ennui or whatever, he is dropped into a literal life or death pressure cooker.

Exactly.

Is it possible to expand trust and, my goodness, even scale trust? Well, we look at how is trust earned on a one-to-one basis, things we talked about through observation, consistency of action, honoring agreements and commitments, and always understanding remembering and knowing that you are being observed and that you're getting a client.

And just like my favorite line in the Mad Men series by Don Draper is that the day that you sign a client is the day you start to lose them.

Why is that? Because you have dozens of people chasing that client just after you sign them.

So you're always being observed.

So there you go.
