Sep 17, 2026 · 40 min · 10 segments
**Topics covered:** - Why so many women describe “becoming small” inside their marriages - The mental load, emotional labor, and default parenting—and why they don’t get credited - The body’s wisdom…
Oona MetzGuestYeah, that's such a great origin story because what I love about both the book and the groups is they originated out of a place of need.
And that's why I think women are so incredible, especially Gen X women, midlife women.
Like that wasn't really, I mean, unless you had like the coolest, most evolved parents on the planet and I don't know, grew up in a utopian commune.
If something doesn't work, well, that's because life is supposed to be full of suffering and you're supposed to be uncomfortable and please just be quiet and get on board.
But so here we are at this stage of life when it's like, this isn't working.
And instead of shrugging our shoulders, we say, well, I guess then I'll do it.
So I love that it came from this place of need of this is something women want and there isn't a place for it.

I really wanted people to not feel like they were alone and to also not feel like they were crazy.
