Discerning Deception (Waging Through Warfare week 2)

And last Q1, I made the comment that many people don't wage war in the spirit because they don't understand what spiritual warfare looks like for them personally.

And so tonight we're going to talk about what it actually looks like to discern deception.

That's the title of tonight's message, Discerning Deception.

And I believe a large part of why people don't wage war in the spirit is because they lack discernment.

And it reminds me of the scripture where the Lord talks about if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask our generous God who gives to all without finding fault.

And God will not rebuke you for asking for wisdom.

And so whenever we're seeking discernment, simply put, discernment is the ability to decipher the difference between good and evil.

to decipher the difference between what is for you and what is against you, because not everything that appears to be good is from God.

In the same way, not everything that appears to be bad is from Satan.

Sometimes we inflict those things upon ourselves.

And so when we walk in the discernment of the Spirit, when we walk In the truth of God's word, we're able to navigate through our spiritual livelihood in a way that no longer feels like a losing battle, but all the more feels like we are actually fighting a winning battle because it is no longer us who is fighting, but the one who resides in us, the very spirit of the one true living God.

Discerning deception is a matter of serious urgency in the spiritual realm.

And the reality is that so many people have become numb to the things of God, have become numb to the plans and the schemes, like Allie mentioned and encouraged us earlier, the schemes that the enemy has tried to prevail against us in.

And unfortunately, we've seen time and time again that people have fallen victim to the schemes of the enemy because they're not discerning the deception that has been set before them.
