The real danger is not science fiction fantasy. It is the very human habit of building first and asking hard questions later. It is the same pattern we have seen in every industry captured by money…
And, you know, I want to start here because you've done some stuff on AI recently.
I've talked to some people and, you know, it's all over the place, obviously.
What stuns me more about this, Gail, is kind of how quickly, I mean, really quickly, like fast, it's become the dominant conversation.
It's like, we weren't even talking about this just a bit ago and it started creeping.
I didn't have them, but I started reading the rumors and the stories and where the Alexa and the Ceres and some of those other ones, whatever they were, that were taping all your conversations, listening to everything in the home because they'd want to hear the command when you said their name, like, hey, Alexa, I better not say the other one because all this will come on with Mac and say, start listening and then mess everything up.
And it started kind of there for me, which was really what the beginning of some of that AI stuff was in the real world.
But I'm stunned how fast it has taken over the conversation, the water cooler.
What really concerns me is all the data centers that are starting to come into communities and the people in those communities having so much to say about losing access to their resources in the community and Some of the things, it's been very interesting.
And the guy was talking about, I think his name was Daniel Cocatola or something like that.
But talking about how the people who are currently managing the development of AI They're, of course, doing it from the perspective of making money.
And when you think about elevating an industry with that as your first and primary agenda, how many times do we have to watch this go sideways before we learn that that incentive always leads to disaster and i i feel that it with ai too that there's just too much focus on the business aspects and the monetization aspects and not enough focus on the future that we're creating for seven generations well and
you touched on some of this in your previous conversation you had on this actually so i remember you talking about some of that And you wrote about it as well.
And, you know, it's like everything, though, Gail, it's like everything that I mean, let's face it in life, you know, greed kind of takes over to some degree.
the human mind and it takes over and then people, it kind of seizes the moment and they sort of take advantage of the moment in ways and they lose control.
