Emergency Pod: Panthers fired DC Ejiro Evero. Now what?

Well, it's an interesting question.

And really, while you say that, I'm taken into...

this pretty angry, not quite indignant, but pretty angry locker room.

It's not despondent, it's not sad, but it is annoyed, it's irritated.

And I actually remember, I won't name names, but someone in the front office asking Dave, I was leaving the locker room, asking Dave Canales, how did it go? And I was just assuming that Dave was, you know, talking to, it was having a meeting with Bryce Young or something like that.

But I imagine, like, this is what the conversation was.

I imagine that, you know, EJ Everett was notified right after the game.

Maybe not.

Maybe I'm speculating.

Maybe this is journalism malpractice.

But that's just kind of where my memory immediately goes.

Um, and how did we get here is just a really broad question.

I could take you there.

The Panthers rank in the bottom half of the league in every major defensive category after Thursday night, they, uh, That includes points allowed per game, 27.6 points per game.

That's 27th in the NFL.

And again, the NFL only has 32 teams.

They rank 23rd in yards allowed per game, nearly 350 yards allowed per game.

Third down percentage is atrocious.

They allow 45.8% of all third down conversion attempts allowed.

to be true.

That's 27th in the league.

Rushing yards allowed per game, 140.7. That's 30th in the league.

And that's 30th in the league with two games of under 50 yards allowed.

They held Jameer Gibbs and the Detroit Lions to 46 rushing yards.

They held the Philadelphia Eagles to even fewer rushing yards than that.

Well, it's an interesting question.
