So I think before we get into the drop down of questions and things let's get very clear why are we doing this so the idea of this podcast was never to create something which is extremely fundamental or to tell anyone how aviation is interesting or not the idea was let's bring out the hard truth real facts of aviation and i think you've been that were very vocal about the real life of aviation so i think let's get really from that
real life away from the glitz and glam that people think exists yeah that's that's the fun part actually
so is it i mean let's just start with that is it as fun because we see those instagram reels and you know i and jitesh keep forwarding it to each other see how how much fun the life is everyone is you know doing great etc etc i've seen you and i know you personally so is it as much fun how does the life look like that right now
uh so to be honest Previously, pilots were like celebrities, right? And they, in a way, really were.
Their circles were some of the film actors and things like that.
They knew pilots.
He was ex-Jet.
I'm not sure where he is.
So now it's different.
Now, especially because of Instagram, I think there was a lot of disruption of respect and people losing respect for pilots that had occurred, especially during that, because when you're blogging your whole life, you know, when your family life and everything, you know, it's to me, it's in a way you're making a mockery of a very serious, you know, profession.
You know, you've got people putting songs and dancing in uniform and things like that, which is not something that I will ever agree with.
you're trying to gain viewership for, I don't know what.
You chose to be a pilot, do your job, do it right, go home.
That's pretty much what my perspective is.
It always has been.
That's interesting.
I think to that, actually, if you think about it, people who would see that content also get inspired then to actually get into the profession.
Now, having been through its challenges yourself and would love to know that background as well.
How do you think of the reality of employment,
essentially? Aviation, when it comes to employment, works in sideways.
There are ups and downs.
And it's happened throughout Indian aviation, where there's this massive hiring spurt that takes place.
And then again, there's a lull where there are no jobs and people have to wait for seven or eight years to get a job.
Right now, yes, there is a boom and the boom started in about 2018. regardless of airlines shutting down and everything, because of especially one airline, they've really expanded, like it's a massive expansion, which is very commendable, you know, considering that everyone talks about aviation being a loss-making industry, but they've, you know, broken that barrier and all the stock prices speak for themselves.
