93- "Hail to the King Baby!" The Evil Dead Franchise Part 1

But I mean, hey, it's Evil Dead, so it's going to have some length to it.

But yes, The Evil Dead came out in 1981 and was created before that.

Yeah.

1978, 79.

Yeah.

And of course wasn't kind of welcomed.

It was very different.

It was very bloody.

It's kind of like what we have Terrifier today.

It was kind of pushing that line of where does horror...

It's supposed to kind of have its, you know, guard, I guess, or its governor.

Like, hey, no, we're not doing that.

You can't do that.

So it was like, you know, pushing those boundaries.

And yeah, I mean, if you've never seen it, first of all, go check it out.

It's... pretty much on everything

yeah yeah if you haven't

seen it um just

let i i'll get you a copy at this point it's like yeah you need to see this

and uh we did do an episode on this already we compared the first evil dead and the 2013 evil dead uh in a earlier episode but today we're just going to talk about just kind of what we love about this series and yeah of course it was bruce starring bruce campbell directed by sam raimi And, of course, had friends and was a small, small budget film filmed in the cabin, literally a cabin in the woods.

Yeah, cabin in the woods in like rural Tennessee.

Yeah, rural Tennessee.

And it was so crazy because, I mean, if you see documentaries and stuff like that, you know that you know some of the...

Actors you know on there how to leave set so like people how to fill in there's people filling in for girl spots And you know people having to like oh well I got to go film this or I got to go do this so like Pretty

much like just working with what you got yeah, it went over time in production Yeah, certain.
