the, the character that is just, like, the iconic character, and the first time that I saw this, I clearly remember this, I really thought Captain Spaulding, uh, you know, Sid Haig's character-

... was just, he was, like, the anti-hero, where, like, I don't like people, you know, fuck your mother, fuck your grandmother, fuck you.

Yeah.

Uh, yes.

Uh, Captain Spaulding, your friendly neighborhood clown, is absolutely part of this, uh, horror show.

Uh, he is not there to help you.

Except for, except for Captain Spaulding.

He's, he's kind of funny.

And also, like, uh, Captain Spaulding played by Sid Haig in House of 1000 Corpses-

It's a very weird and off-putting, uncomfortable movie.

But I thought it was cool that the Dr. Wolfenstein is kind of a love letter to these horror movies that... people would watch in halloween and it's just like we got one kind of mashed up together here after that we go to the the gas station which i think this is like a on the lot somewhere in universal because i've seen it in other movies where i'm like is that fucking transformers um And seeing Captain Spaulding having a normal conversation, dressed up, looking like this greasy clown and stuff like that, it is great.

This weird part of humanizing him and then seeing what he ends up doing and kind of being and you're always confused about him he never it's like willy wonka like you're like i never know if you're being serious or if you're if you're fucking with me or if you're mad or if you're like being sarcastic or whatever

he's got a very unique appearance a very unique voice and it's it's unsettling yeah like everything about him is just very I mean, I don't want to be disrespectful of, like, the actual guy that he is in real life.

He's like, ah, gas and chicken.

He's like, let's get in there.

Oh, it made me think of whenever the commercial for it, like after the Dr. Wolfenstein thing, and then you see the black and white commercial for Captain Spaulding.

It gave like Tiger King vibes.

House of 1000 Corpses was, like, his first, uh, his intro to the horror movies.

All right, Captain Spaulding runs a gas station and chicken shack, right? But they have a horror ride, this little...

It's kinda like the Monster Plantation from Six Flags-

Like the SportsCenter version of Walking Dead, right?

So anyway, those two and their two girlfriends go through the little monster ride, and then they take off.

Uh, Captain Spaulding tells them where the Dr. Satan stuff supposedly happens, so they take off down the road.

They get a flat tire.

All right, but this is another clown that I played last summer for our outside movie night.

I'm talking Captain Spaulding.

make way for captain spalding he was played by sid hagg rest in peace oh my god this is such a great he's technically in three movies but we're gonna focus on house of a thousand corpses 2003's movie directed written by rob zombie So he's more of a traditional-looking clown, but he's really just a blue-collar type of guy that wants to sell you some gasoline and delicious fried chicken.

Spoiler, he's also the matriarch of a murderous clan of psychos known as the Firefly Family.

Karen Black, Bill Mosley, Sherry Moon Zombie, of course it's a Rob Zombie movie, Chris Hardwick, Walton Goggins, Matthew McGrory, Tom Towles, Rainn Wilson, and music done by, of course, Rob Zombie and Scott Humphrey.

We have a couple of couples traveling across the country writing a book about road stops, tourist traps, and all sorts of oddities that they come across.

They're intrigued by Captain Spaulding's murder ride and the tale of Dr. Satan and end up with more story than they can handle.

It's a flashy, colorful movie that takes place on Halloween.

Murder, madness, mayhem.

After barely surviving a furious shootout with the police, Baby Firefly, Otis Driftwood, and Captain Spaulding are behind bars, but pure evil cannot be contained.

Teaming up with the Otis half-brother Winslow, the demented Firefly clan escape to unleash a whole new wave of murder, madness, and mayhem.

See, they do the tagline, but at the end.

the movement is wrong.

Yeah.

Rob Zombie had originally planned for Otis and Captain Spaulding to stage a prison riot as a cover for their own breakout.

They would have then escaped using other inmates as human shields from the guards' gunfire.
