I think sometimes we conflate validating with ratifying, approving of something.

Validating it makes it sound like we're saying, "And that's as it should be," introverted feeling or authenticity really understands.

Validating somebody's feeling is basically just saying, "I understand why that would exist." It's not saying that it's the right feeling, but really all it's doing is going, "I understand that you're a complex person, and whatever feelings come up are the feelings that came up."
