And I'm going to lean on my own counsel and I'm not going to really take people's feedback and I'm just going to kind of do it my way because those are my functions for me.

Versus the right side of the car, the co-pilot and the 10-year-olds, based on the work of Dr. John Beebe, he calls this the axis of relating to others.

So these are our responsive functions.

When we have a responsibility or when we are doing something to interface with the outside world, these are the functions that are more likely to be activated.

I think these really truly are the pillars of, of the personality system.

The first one is Dr. John Beebe's eight function model, which are the archetypes that are associated with each of our cognitive function positions.

So, um, if you are unfamiliar, his theory is that we have eight archetypes that are s- are living within us that all have a different cognitive function that is their favorite instrument to use.

And so when that instrument is being used, the archetype tends to show up, and when that archetype shows up, that's the instrument they tend to use.
