Yeah.

Uh, INTJ or whatever-

Yeah

... uh, those are the Myers-Briggs personality types, right?

For someone who's maybe a little bit skeptical and thinking there's a little bit pseudoscience for their liking, what do you say to that?

I think we hold it lightly and not to say that, okay, you know, oh, my MBTI, I'm like this, INTJ, whichever, right? And that's it.

And you hold so strongly to that.

Then it can limit our own growth as well.

They've used repetition to create new neural pathways in the brain through neuroplasticity.

And in Jungian psychology, we can think of that as individuation and self-development personality type isn't an excuse for bad behavior or life circumstances either and it's not forcing you inside a box you don't say like I'm an INFP so I can never organize my life you might say that in jest but it's not the intention of it you don't say well I'm an INTJ so I don't care about other people's feelings Knowing your personality type allows you to see where you are, allows you to see your character class, your starting build, and then take different quests to improve your skill set as well as improve some of your weaknesses too.

Now, I believe we should double down on our strengths, but I understand the compelling nature of I struggle with this.

I have a weakness in it.

If you've worked in a corporate environment at any point in the last 40 years, there's a reasonable chance someone has asked you to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or the MBTI.

Then you answered an incredibly long list of questions, got assigned your four letters, and maybe sat through a workshop where your team talked about how INTJs and ESFPs bring different strengths to the table.

It probably felt useful, or even felt reasonably accurate, and there's some specific psychological reasons it felt that way that have nothing to do with whether it measured your personality correctly.

Let's take a look at how a personality quiz built by two people with no psychology training became a fixture of corporate America, why it stuck despite evidence against it, and what we're losing by using that instead of the tools personality researchers have actually validated over the last three decades.

So I think it's okay to go at it both ways.

If you are an organizer, if you are a systems thinker, if you are an INTJ on the Firesbrick scale, then use that to your advantage like you do.

If you're more like me who lives in the woo-woo mystery magic world, it's okay to let the ideas kind of – do their thing in private.

And then at some point, you will know which one to write.

Some libertarians started coming in, sound money advocates, gold bugs, people who kind of understood sound money was, I would say, is probably like the next wave.

And then we had people who are intrigued by the ideas like the INTP crowd, the INTJ crowd started coming in with some broader interests and writing a whole bunch and bringing in these analogies and helping people understand Bitcoin.

There was a deluge of education.

You know, when I started Citizen Bitcoin, I think there were like maybe six, seven, eight, I don't know, something like that.
