Darren, in case it's been a while since they've seen it, spoiler warning, of course, spoiler warning for the movie.

In case it's been a while since they've seen it or they've never seen it before, what is Requiem for a Dream all about?

Yeah, it's about, I guess there's four, you could argue four main-ish characters.

And then there's an older woman who's the mother of one of the characters who gets addicted to basically speed.

so yeah so so when the movie starts um jim who who's one of the main characters is already addicted to we like he's he's taking his mom's tv somewhere um which which we will talk about exactly like what that that the point of that was um yeah uh so yeah taking uh he's addicted he has a a friend who's also addicted and he has a girlfriend who's also addicted um all three of them addicted to heroin um and then so really i mean really the movie is about you know their sort of journey into their addiction and um it only i guess it only takes a place over about a year or less than a year um and you know about the kind of the highs and lows pun intended of uh of their addiction and then pretty soon into the movie um oh i keep why why did i call him jim it's harry harry is the main character Why I called him Jim.

His mother is kind of gets tricked into thinking she's going to be on a TV show and she decides she needs to diet for that.

And she gets hooked up with a doctor and she starts taking pills and she gets addicted to them.

And really the rest of the movie is just sort of about their spiral over the course of a year.

They get into selling a little bit, not the mother, but the three friends get into selling a little bit.

And yeah, it's sort of just like, you know, where really bad drug addiction can take you and how it can sort of like... screw up your life based on the decisions you make that are, you know, around trying to get more drugs.
