President Dr. Finney has certainly racked up the credentials in her career, but she'll tell you she's still just "Maureen from Buffalo".. and that's why she's such a perfect fit for Rochester, and for…
There is a podcast that I just started listening to that I actually, well, I should say didn't just start.
I started a couple of months ago, but I spent the last couple of months binging it because they had 60 or so episodes when I first started listening.
Bit of a double entendre there, but it actually means thank you for understanding, which any small business owner who's had to write a bit of a mea culpa in an email to a client knows if you're writing the words thank you for understanding, it probably means your company, well, needed to fess up to something or you did something wrong.
Thank you for understanding is something we hate writing, but every once in a while we as business owners just flat out have to.
Anyway, this podcast called TYFU is by two ladies out of Geneva, New York, right down the road.
and the other is marilla gonzalez she owns a place called marilla's mindful supplies and if you're thinking to yourself hey i live in rochester but i know that name yes you do she is also uh has a marilla's mindful supplies in the south wedge in rochester but she's also one half of the limpker sisters she's a singer and so she's done gigs around town they also together just started or just opened, or I should say just purchased a flower shop in Geneva as well.
Now, I've not actually been to Geneva yet to see their shops, but I'm going soon.
And as you can imagine, I'm making the announcement right here right now that I'm going to be having both of them on this podcast probably, I don't know about next week, but probably in the next month or so, you'll see their episodes pop up.
I mean, it's not completely unheard of for me to interview two people at the same time, but I just have a way better time doing one-on-one interviews and hearing people's stories that way.
So I'm going to make a whole day, well, half a day out of it, head to Geneva and Check out their shops, spend money in their shops.
More importantly, we need to support our small businesses and then record podcasts with both of them.
But I would highly suggest to you if you are a small business owner or love the types of concepts and topics that we talk about on here.
