This week on Paneloids: Comic Books and More, we’re talking Lanterns E8: The Finale, Batman #14, Absolute Superman #24, Absolute Green Lantern #19, Midnight X-Men #1, Midnight Spider-Man #1, Midnight…
It's so to the, you know, times that we're living in right now, but mostly the just the great work that was done with Green Lanterns in general.
I know this is your favorite.
So this must have been a treat for you.
Yeah.
The thing that I kind of walked away with is like you're saying, it had the quality of all the different HBO Max shows as a Green Lantern show.
It didn't really feel like it was in some parts.
They had great parts like the boar machine that John made for getting into the base from underneath.
That was sick.
Right.
Little glimpses like that throughout.
But when it came to Green Lantern content, like all these different constructs, the space, the aliens, it seemed like it was lacking.
Is that something we're going to get in season two? I bet because I think this plan for it this like grounded like they always like to say in the true detective feel was the main focus of season one, and we can kind of build from after that in from what we got here so I'm I'm fine with that for now.
I just really hope they step it up for season two and anything they have with the lanterns in the movies.
But we've already seen they do like to give Guy Gardner some fun ways of using his constructs like the middle finger in the Superman movie.
I think there was like a claw machine, like actual claw to for the big kaiju.
So I'm not very worried, honestly.
That's fair.
I think they, I don't know that in some ways it's budget.
So you understand like, yeah, everything has a budget.
Everything's not supposed to be, you know, this crazy big budget, but with what they did, I think the writing really shined probably some of the best work of these actors.
I would say, I don't know, it's hard to not be so, make it personal, I guess would be the best way to put it.
Jon's story was just so captivating.
The ending of season eight.
So I wish that one day we'll get the Lindelof Club, where you get the chronological order
