LSU Rolls McNeese, But Should Sam Leavitt Have Played?

All right.

Good morning, y'all.

Hope your, uh, Saturday was awesome watching ball.

Um, good football Sunday ahead of us.

No Saints.

Saints play, uh, the Falcons on Monday Night Football.

So we'll talk a little bit more about Saints-Falcons tomorrow.

Um, but, uh, how about the Tigers last night? They beat McNeese 63 to 14.

Set a program record for first downs.

Uh, set a program record, record for plays run.

Um, I could have used a few just running plays in the second half to just, you know, get things moving a little bit, but, uh, that's not how Lane Kiffin wants to go about doing things, and that much was, um, was pretty evident.

So, um, all things considered, pretty good day.

I-- you know, considering we didn't hear throughout the week that, um, that Leavitt was out, I think...

You know, y- I know y'all kept asking me all throughout the week, and I'd heard he-- that he was out there at practice, and late in the week heard that he was taking first team reps.

It was pretty evident he was gonna try to give it a go.

Now, I was not okay with that.

I think he should-- I mean, it's very obvious watching last night that he was limited.

Um, they did not call a single run play for him, and I, I only remember him running once when he rolled.

He sort of rolled to his right to evade pressure.

Um, Lane Kiffin said after the game that they, he and Charlie, like they intentionally called the game so they were not calling plays where Sam Leavitt was gonna have to move.

So he just sat in the pocket and just threw dives.

And you could see the-- y'all could see the arm talent.

You could see the ability.

It's undeniable, man.

He should've had two more touchdowns, um, that Winnie Watkins dropped.
