This week we discuss: 00:00 All of the Sharks! 18:21 Long Beach Native Matt Nieto is retired! 12:19 McKenna's NHL debut ruined 35:34 NHL missing the mark with hockey romance audiences…
It kind of, on one hand, before we got things going, the fact that we're going to go against the Panthers, I was just thinking, oh, great.
We've got a brand-new roster.
I mean, say what you will about the Panthers.
I mean, we know what the end score was.
We're excited with how things happened.
But, you know...
They've got some guys in there who know what they're doing.
In the past couple seasons, we've had to do home openers against Vegas, which, you know, it's like one of those things.
It's like, can we not just, like, enjoy at least one game before feeling like, here we go again? But, you know, it ended with OT, Luca Cagnoni, getting his first win.
What a great way to end it.
Getting to see all these new guys in the mix.
We've gotten a lot of new faces.
So it kind of took a little bit of adjusting for me when I was watching.
I was like, who's that guy? Who's this guy? Who's seven again? Like, who's five? Like, yeah, but, you know, just excited to see the boys back out there.
We knew it was coming.
Mike Greer rage baiting the entire fan base by basically saying that Mac's going to be captain, but also not saying it at the same time, people throwing a frenzy, um,
Yeah, we knew it was going to happen.
He said it's sacred.
He can't just give it to anyone.
We're like, you're not giving it to anyone, just anyone.
But the way that he says it, it's like he knows what he's doing and he's got such a poker face and people are all over the spectrum of like, what is Mike Greer doing? And it's like, he knows what he's doing.
He's like, I see you're mad.
