Carwyn and Oli return after a long time away as the season is about to begin. In Episode 14 of the Only Swans Podcast they discuss everything from the transfer window to everyone's favourite Stoke…
So, I suppose we should start by talking about the new season.
How are you feeling?
Um, I'm very confident.
I mean, yeah, I think, I think I've seen a, maybe a little bit of overconfidence online, but you always do, don't you? We've made some fantastic sign-ins, um, some, some pretty decent sales.
I mean, what do you think of that sign-in? I think that a fairly decent sign-in.
I mean, obviously that's a club we f- we will talk about again in a few minutes, I'm sure.
Yeah
... is probably the best thing I can say.
Defensively, I don't think he's probably as strong as, as Kabango.
I mean, I was gonna say as strong as Burgess as well, but defensively, even there, he's looked, you know, a bit suspect so far, and obviously I'm sure we'll come on to talk about him.
But Welsh is a really good passer.
He's pro- I don't think he's the tallest, he's not the strongest in the air, but as a sort of complement for Kabango, I think he might be quite good.
And I think he's in for, you know, an instant opportunity with the unfortunate injury of Burgess at the weekend against Birmingham City.
Yeah, it looks like a bad one, that, doesn't it? It sounds like he may well have, have ruptured his Achilles, which obviously that's the same injury as Josh Janelly had a couple of years ago.
He never really came back from that, and obviously it is a bit worrying to see someone over 30 sustain that injury.
I mean, you know, I've seen some quite bizarre discourse online of people celebrating his injury, which I think is mental, like on a human level.
Yeah.
You know, guy is, is, is not gonna be able to, you know-
It's-
... walk for however long now.
I think it's the summary of sort of online football fandom, isn't it? Is like-
Yeah
