Dan RolinsonHOST
13:48
So it's presumably Bogard at right back.
Dan RolinsonHOST
13:51
No, nothing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Dan RolinsonHOST
13:53
So unless you put Lindelof there, it'll probably be
Matt LynchGUEST
13:56
Bogard.
Matt LynchGUEST
13:57
You've probably not seen it, but both John and Jacob have both been reporting that apparently Aaron Wan-Bissaka might be ready to be back for United.
Matt LynchGUEST
14:05
Okay, all right.
Matt LynchGUEST
14:06
that would be a boost back in training it won't obviously fit for the bench by all means seemingly for midweek but they've said they'll make a call which may alleviate some fears but not excusing tonight and the issues on that right hand side especially was alarming I think that It seemed that Alisson, for all going forwards, which, to be fair, by his recent standards, I don't think he was that great tonight.
Neale RiggGUEST
18:08
We weren't expecting that much anyway.
Neale RiggGUEST
18:11
We do know that three are out sort of medium to long term, so Ruggieri, Wan-Bissaka and Onana.
Neale RiggGUEST
18:17
And we're not aware of any of their issues, none were raised, none were asked of, but I'll keep my eyes on The written section of that press later on.
Neale RiggGUEST
18:24
It is a Saturday deadline, so we will have tonight's embargo sections to clear up anything else.
Frankie MaguireHOST
28:16
Don't love the idea of that.
Frankie MaguireHOST
28:18
Wan-Bissaka injured as well.
Frankie MaguireHOST
28:19
Oh God, could really have done with Kashnok getting the book in.
Frankie MaguireHOST
28:23
Bloody hell.
Noah FisherHOST
19:44
And, I mean, we're going to go to Manchester United next in the Premier League, and we have our issues at fullback at the moment.
Noah FisherHOST
19:51
No Ruggieri, no Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and now no Matty Cash for a game.
Noah FisherHOST
19:57
Obviously, five yellow cards, someone that has been so incredibly reliable for us this season and last season.
Noah FisherHOST
20:05
Manchester United, under the pressure as it is, you don't want to be missing your leaders going to a big game like that.
TristanGUEST
20:12
You don't, and hasn't Cash stepped up? He's had his doubters for so long, and his past 12 to 18 months have been superb.
TristanGUEST
20:21
And never thought we'd sit here saying that we'd be so reliant upon him because I know I didn't feel as comfortable even when Wan-Bissaka was playing in that position, just that same enterprise and marauding runs and overlaps that Cash offers the team.
TristanGUEST
20:40
And I said to a United fan during our game as well that we're every chance of playing you back into form because I can see their width terrorising us.
TristanGUEST
20:51
And I think that's just a flank now to prey upon.
Chris BuddHOST
13:34
Perfect.
Chris BuddHOST
13:35
he was there's certain game states that maybe suit him and maybe that's why Emery likes him because he knows he can drop him in but I remember seeing him in the first Champions League game at Young Boys and he started at right back and he struggled against Young Boys of all the positions you think he's probably not a right back I can see why you'd maybe put him in as a defensive central midfielder and just keep recycling the ball and moving it around but we've got so much in our rotation there they're obviously saying listen if you want to play at this football club you're going to have to be a slightly more defensive player but you know and ultimately you did have to give cash a break somewhere so that was the right thing to do but I just I don't see where he's going to progress at Villa at the moment because he's not going to get the games and we don't really know what he is and once you get a Wan-Bissaka and a Ruggieri back you've got two specialist full-backs in those positions and He's not going to play over Goretzka, Barkley, Kamara, Gomez, etc.
Chris BuddHOST
14:23
And there's probably other people who you can play in there.
Chris BuddHOST
14:26
The fact that in the big game last season, of course, he played Lindelof in there.
Neil DunworthGUEST
7:30
to try and get past time after time after time.
Neil DunworthGUEST
7:32
And, you know, right back, Wan-Bissaka coming back, Matty Cash coming back.
Neil DunworthGUEST
7:37
Look, you know, when we had the who's going to play it left back situation, a lot of people were saying, oh, just stick Bogard over there.
Neil DunworthGUEST
7:43
And, you know, I'm reticent to put Bogard in the fullback positions anyway, because I don't think they're his position.
NateGUEST
8:14
He'd try and help defensively, but it was never really his game.
NateGUEST
8:17
So you wouldn't really expect him to be tracking back because he normally had Wan-Bissaka there or Joel Ward there.
NateGUEST
8:22
But Brennan Johnson did not look interested whatsoever.
NateGUEST
8:24
And that effed off a lot of fans.
Dan BardellHOST
35:34
Wanted to give Cash a rest.
Dan BardellHOST
35:34
Haven't got Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof a rest too.
Dan BardellHOST
35:37
Who could have possibly played there? I get it.
Dan BardellHOST
35:39
I get why we did it.
Dan BardellHOST
36:20
And we did last season as well, which leaves him with a problem.
Dan BardellHOST
36:24
Because it just means, where do his minutes come from? Because they're unlikely to come in midfield.
Dan BardellHOST
36:28
And when Wan-Bissaka's fit, they're unlikely to come at right-back as well and centre-back.
Dan BardellHOST
36:33
I know Emery referenced him as a centre-back in a two when Harwood-Bellis wasn't in the squad for the Champions League.
Will ForrestHOST
11:14
He put in a fantastic performance.
Will ForrestHOST
11:17
And maybe having that little bit of a rest every now and again when Wan-Bissaka or Joe Gomez can play it right back.
Will ForrestHOST
11:25
Bogard last night.
Will ForrestHOST
11:27
But it gives... cash not only the rest he needs but also the impetus to improve himself and to keep a top form so that he starts in matches because Wan-Bissaka hasn't come here to sit on the bench for a year
DaveHOST
11:43
but
Will ForrestHOST
11:45
I mean moving on from that and moving on from the fantastic performance against Manchester City moves us to a performance last night where the result was dreadful I didn't watch the game I listened to it for little bits on the radio and at the end of the first half and it seemed like we were getting into the game we had a couple of chances Buendia dragged one wide Maggio had an effort smothered as well but looking at that first team at the moment and this is something we were discussing just off air before we came on we do have a great squad but there are players who played last night who are either just not ready or just not good enough to be coming in and challenging the first team in our opinion without putting words into your mouth.

DaveHOST
19:44
I think he's back running straight lines of training.
DaveHOST
19:46
But I mean, it's a long way to go with that hamstring injury.
Andy MilesGUEST
18:45
He was better in the Premier League than he was in the Championship.
Andy MilesGUEST
18:47
He was okay last year when Wan-Bissaka went in.
Andy MilesGUEST
18:51
I think he's learning from when Wan-Bissaka lost.
GaryHOST
18:58
There's a couple of Facebook groups.
GaryHOST
19:01
I don't read Facebook very often.
