Today's episode kind of serves as an epilogue on the Sherlock Holmes series we've been doing for about the last four years.
However, the story has some definite hints of Sherlock Holmes in it, particularly one of the letters to the editor that was read.
There were some hints that it came from Holmes and was not too far off from the truth.
In addition to this, the Old Court Radio Theater produced its own take on the law special in which it was just turned into a Sherlock Holmes story.
You can take a listen to the Old Court Radio Theater adaptations either by searching for the Sherlock Holmes Society podcast or going to Sherlock-Holmes.org.uk.
In addition to that, for the genuine Sherlock Holmes feel, this episode actually stars an actor who played Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Ben Wright.
This was from February of 1949, so it was before Wright had... taken on the role for Sherlock Holmes from 49 to 54, ABC, but after he'd at least stood in for one episode for Tom Conway in the 46-47 season.
They did that one four times, but there were several stories that they produced multiple times.
So it tended not to feature as many of the big-name stars in the day, particularly when suspense got started off.
I'm kind of not knowing how much talent they were putting on, so you get to see a lot of great early performances.
