This weekend from Birmingham to Brighton, our political parties have been reminding us that conference season really does bring out the very worst in everyone.

Matt, Kemi Badenoch says this is a brand new party, but also that she's a classic old school conservative.

Is this new or vintage? And beyond grow the economy and cut the state, what sort of Britain does Kemi Badenoch actually want?

It's called The Right Way, which to me immediately just makes me think of a very bad Ben Elton sitcom from about 10 years ago that I did the warm-up for and was terrible.

Um, I downloaded it from the website, and on the website, it's got a thing saying, "Sign up to hear from Kemi." So it's very clear that the Tory party has just become Kemi Badenoch's party.

... with Nigel, and also a little bit reminiscent of Labour's manifesto last time where it was just a massive picture of Keir Starmer with the word change on it, um, which it turns out we did quite soon afterwards.

Yeah, I mean, a lot of the Kemi stuff also reminds me this week of that meme, the one where there's a guy massively celebrating and being like popping champagne corks, then it sort of pulls back and it reveals he's actually on the third place podium.

It's got this sort of feel of like everything's going great for Kemi, Kemistry and, and Kemi have a go if you think you're hard enough, and Kemi, Kemi, Kemi.

The party's still languishing in the polls, um, but she's slightly more popular than her party, and therefore everyone's sort of, you know, going on her.
