Hockey is Back!

Well, [sighs] o- one, one part of the off-season drama has been sort of, uh, sort of figured out.

I- th- the off-season started with, with some big news.

Um, the captain, Dylan Larkin, hometown kid, born and raised in Waterford, Michigan, um, he requested a trade.

Uh, it came, it became public that he had requested a trade late in the season, and, uh, the list of teams was very, very short.

I believe it was Tampa Bay, uh, Florida, AKA Miami, um, Minnesota, and Vegas.

Correct.

Yeah, that, that, that sounds right.

Were the, were his four original teams.

Um, if you know anything about the NHL, um, [chuckles] those four teams were in the playoffs competing for a cup or were taking a year off so that their stars could get recharged, and they just so happened to snag the ninth overall pick in doing so.

You know, Florida, why not? As if they needed to, you know, have a down year.

They, they've, they won back-to-back cups.

Yeah, sure.

Of course.

But didn't they pack- didn't they package that for a certain other Tkachuk that went up there?

I- Was the ninth overall pick a piece of that?

Was the ninth...

I, I don't remember, but I know that they, they used some leverage-

Now that I think of it

... into the Tkac- to get another Tkachuk down there, which, d- while you're looking that up-

Yes

... [chuckles] that's the last thing I think anybody wants to see-

Yeah

... is Matthew on one wing, [chuckles] and Brady on the other-

Yeah

... and then coming right down the middle is Sam Bennett.
