Susan DownsHostHi,

Have you ever felt burnt out? You feel there are too many demands on you and your time? Are you saying yes to things you don't want to do? We women have a challenge there.

If we didn't play nice as children, we were not allowed to play dolls with the others.

So if we say yes to something, they might take it in their stride, and for us it can be a great sacrifice, but we don't know how to say no.

Do we say yes to too many things and we feel we're sacrificing too much to others when to them it's not a sacrifice? How do we learn to say no to protect our boundaries? I found in the past after cooking and cleaning for one whole week for a beau who ate and just watched TV, I kind of exploded, so we tended to share those activities.

So today, we not only have wifely duties instilled to our childhood thoughts, we are out in the workforce trying to create something there.

WHO declared burnout as a global epidemic, acknowledging that the industrial society is in serious trouble.

Burnout is calculated to cost the global economy in the region of $1 trillion per year in lost work time.

In spite of three quarters of the UK workers believing annual leave is an effective way to reduce burnout, one year, three out of five employees used their holiday entitlement and one in five took no holidays at all.

In 23 in UK Careers After Babies report, 85% of the women left the workforce within three years of having their first child.

Demands on our time, what we are taught that we're supposed to want and what we really want and what's best for us.
