Noted - Episode 137: NHL Free Agency Breakdown

Guys, I just kind of want your take on this first week of free agency, Jake.

My line mate, Jake Shanis, David Feldman.

Let's get that right out of the way.

But Jake.

What have you seen from this first week of free agency? And how are teams looking following the draft?

Well, there's really two teams for me that have made a massive impression.

And that would be the San Jose Sharks and the Utah Mammoth, who look like they're going for a cup, honestly.

Yeah.

the West is getting better.

It's a scary time.

You know, it's going to be a gauntlet for our boys in blue next season.

But I also love that for us.

I think that these teams starting to get aggressive, you know, I'm not going to say it puts pressure on us or in our front office, but I do think that it incentivizes us a little bit to not sit on our hands too much.

And I think that that we're doing that.

Um, but th those are the two teams for me, you know, I, it's hard to, to say that any teams in the east are, oh, well there is Florida.

Of course they're, they're clearly going for it.

Um, not so much in free agency, but in trades, but it's been a wild start to the off season between the draft and free agency and trades.

You know, that cap going up, it's making for some exciting times.

But those are the two teams that I'm looking at and saying that they're the ones kind of setting the tone for everybody else.

I tend to agree.

David, any further reflections or can I just go into mine?

Um, you know, I'll just say one thing, you know, because we came out hot last week on the post-draft.

This was right after the draft, literally like emotions

were raw.

Emotions were high.
