You said there about the candidates.
Obviously, I think it came out yesterday that Robbie Keane withdrew from the process 24 hours before we made the approach for Alexander.
But, I'm happy about Graham Alexander.
I said that on Neymar's podcast.
What are your thoughts on Alexander? Happy with the appointment? I know you are.
I think it's when you're looking at all these candidates.
I think I'm not the only one that got a little bit excited by some of the names that were branded around.
Whether they were realistic candidates or that's just the names that were being branded around.
But you'll never know who we actually approach, who the club approach.
who they actually interviewed.
They may have contacted a lot of these names, but for whatever reason, they may have said thanks, but no thanks.
And I don't think Graham Alexander is naive enough to know that he was number one candidate or he was the only candidate going for the job.
Yeah, definitely, definitely.
And I think, like you say, he's dreamt about it.
He's come across so well in those press conferences.
I think those people that were a bit...
We all see in the comments on social media, it was like, oh, what we've appointed Graham Alexander for.
This is a typical Ridsdale appointment.
But I think, I'm not going to say everyone, but I think the majority of those people... who listened to the press conference was definitely won over some of those videos that were put out last week I thought he came across fantastically and it just I wanted us to do well obviously before that under Alexander because me and you both the Alexander era was when we was going on all those games I know you can't remember any of them but
we'll remind you some
of those later on but That was like our era.
So then just hearing how passionate he was about stuff like that, about becoming North End manager, it just...
Like when he said he had the option of going back to the West Midlands with his family or... moving to Preston, back to Preston, sorry, the Preston area, after he departed Motherwell.
I think just hearing stuff like that, Blackie, who sends in voice notes, he always says, he was like, I listened to Heckingbottom's first interview and they asked him, will we be seeing you shopping in the St. George's Centre anytime soon? He's like, oh no, I won't go past Exeter, I'm from Barnsley, I'll do my shopping there.
But yeah, he came across well, didn't he, Paul?
