New Year's Day

Our story today concerns the past and the present of three very nice people.

Their present, of course, like yours, is today, this day, New Year's Day, 1950.

Well, darlings, it's been a perfect New Year's Day, but I'm going home.

So what I'm going to go through is a few slides.

Right now, we are in, actually, today is the last day of Rosh Hashanah, okay? Rosh Hashanah is New Year's Day on God's calendar.

It's the beginning of years, okay? So we just started New Year's Day, and it's a three-day window, okay? So everybody, we're in New Year's, not on man's New Year's clock.

We are in God's New Year right now, okay? So let's understand that.

So if God's going to birth something, Nino, do you think he might do it When his new year begins, okay? So if this is a new year and God's going to birth a new thing, there's a high probability he's going to birth it in his new year, okay? And from Rosh Hashanah, we get the 10 days of awe, which go all the way until...

Do-do-do-do do-wop.

Then, New Year's Day 1962, we have them doing their first paid gig.

Mm.

Then all kind of through the spring and that, they're, they're gigging.

Leonard is set to return to Intuit Dome on November second, one night after the Raptors visit the Los Angeles Lakers and after the Clippers visit the Golden State Warriors.

The Clippers will also visit Toronto on New Year's Day, one night after visiting James Harden and the Cavaliers.

The Clippers and Raptors are also set to meet on October tenth for a preseason game in Vancouver.

[laughs] Forgot about that one.

We have the, uh, holidays.

We have, uh, a vacation during, from, you know, uh, Christmas Day to, to New Year's Day.

Mm.

Very common in Europe, not so common here.

And I do know people who just keep a list of things they want to do differently next year.

And then on New Year's Day, they'll be like, all right, here's the list.

We're going to change all this stuff.

It's like you're waiting for the next board of directors meeting.

Every day is New Year's Day.

If you've got something you need to change in your life and you've decided after full examination that you need to change something, change it.

There's no crime in that.

There's no rule that says you have to wait until New Year's Day to do it.
