No Wrong Turns: An Alt-Bike Podcast, EP 3 - Konnichiwa!

For us, I think I told it already a little bit, but we really got inspired from bike culture

here.

For me, especially when I was younger, the bike messenger culture here was very inspiring.

Also, I think people here really use uh the bike actually even if it's not a bike so they try to use the stuff as long as possible even if it's broken you can fix it yeah so those culture is very inspired us and yeah so that's why we yeah we try to carry lots of stuff we can use for a long time yeah

yeah i think of uh I remember seeing freight messenger bags on Yahoo auctions in Japan that are like so expensive, so much more expensive than the original price.

It is.

And people just really, really like it.

Yeah.

I always thought that was interesting.

Yeah.

Stuff that's hard to get.

Yeah.

Yeah.

What do you think about that? Cause we were talking about it a little bit.

I think it's really interesting.

I mean, thinking back to when I first heard of Circles and Simworks was, I mean, it was like early when I was into frame building and like early Instagram days and seeing these bikes that were like, it was kind of like seeing it echoed back to where I was like oh this is like if we did a really good job if like because I think I don't know my impression is that there's just such a tradition of like craft and attention to detail in Japan that yeah um

Yeah, that's true.

It's kind of

like, yeah, they like, I don't know, that inspiration seems cool.

And then I think I've been inspired by the builds you guys do and like the component design for sure.

And like, you know, Nito's history, like, and then I look at that and then I put that into the things I

design.

So it does feel like a really cool relationship where we're both inspiring each other.
