The Niners Are Suddenly Playing With HOUSE MONEY... | Daily San Francisco 49ers News & Rumors

Starting with the game day checklist.

Three things that the 49ers must do in order to get the win in this game.

And the first one is a no-brainer, right? You've got to pressure Bo Nix.

Pressure the quarterback.

Now, why do I say this? I could say this every week, right? Yes.

But I think this week it is more important to get pressure on Bo Nix than it has been in the past couple weeks.

Because according to Nick Kosminer from The Athletic, Bo Nix is last in the NFL this season in EPA per dropback when pressured.

Now, if you don't know, EPA stands for expected points added or estimated points added, I believe.

And it is an advanced metric that is used for individual players to quantify how much they impact winning on a play-per-play basis.

Bo Nix, again, last in the NFL in EPA per dropback when pressured, right? He has really, really struggled against pressure.

While he is pressured, in dropbacks when he is pressured, Bo Nix is 9 for 27, so 33% completion, 65 yards, and two interceptions.

Just pretty dreadful all around.

Pretty dreadful performance under pressure.

So, of course, you've got to get him pressured, right? You've got to get him pressured.

That's the number one way to make positive plays defensively, even if you don't bring him down, even if you don't sack him.

Bo Nix has been sacked five times this season.

It was four times in week one, zero in week two, and then one in week three.

So, certainly seems like he's improved since week one in that department.

But even if you're not bringing him to the ground, pressure will help in this game.

And blitz if you need to, Mr. Raheem Morris.

Defenses are blitzing Nix heavily so far this season.

Bo Nix has been blitzed on 33% of his dropbacks.

That's sixth highest in the NFL for the Broncos quarterback.

So, I fully expect to see Raheem Morris dial some stuff up.

Show me some Fred Warner blitzes.
