Episode 194 - Next Lawyer Up with Ron Sykstus featuring Sam Rumore

Thank you.

Ron, great to be with you today.

Now, listen, I don't know if you know my name or recognize my name.

I surely recognize yours from our Army days way back when, probably on the order of 34 years ago.

I was on active duty JAG.

And when I got out, so I left active duty, I was working up here in Huntsville, but I wanted to join a reserve unit because my producer son, Jack, who's producing this, was just born and every penny counted.

So I was with the 348th Headquarters Brigade, maybe.

And so I knew your name.

So what rank would you have been JAG Corps-wise in, let's say, 1992? 1992,

I was probably a Lieutenant Colonel, I guess.

I was a commander of one of the JAG detachments in Birmingham.

We had three JAG detachments.

And, you know, we went around doing pre-mobilization briefings.

We did... different types of boards, whatever needed to be done, we did.

So that comports with

what I'm thinking.

So yeah, it feels like, so I was a captain and you probably were a Lieutenant Colonel that, that feels about right to me.

So again, our paths crossed very little.

We may have talked, I may have talked to you once or twice with a hello, sir.

Uh, but that's probably about it.

But of course I, so I've known your name, I've known your, your practice area.

So I'll kind of want to work backwards and we'll cut, we'll come back to the military stuff in a minute or in a little bit.
