Meeting God On The Mountain pt2 || 8-16-2026 || Sermon

All right.

Well, how many of you have been following along the last couple of weeks as we've been talking about meeting God on the mountain? Last week, Stephanie did the Ten Commandments, which was amazing, talking about what Moses came down from the mountain with.

And so I want to do a little bit of review.

This is week three.

And the idea, again, Moses met God on the mountain.

And what he received from God became blueprints that they were meant to build together.

And they did.

And what they built became a place that facilitated relationship with God for generations.

And we look at the Mount of Transfiguration where...

The apostles were on the mountaintop with Jesus, and what they received also became blueprints that they were going to build that would go on for generations, which is the church that's happening today.

It's not, spoiler alert, it's not actually a building, but a church building helps us recognize it's the church.

The church is actually us.

and all of the believers in Jesus around the world throughout time.

And so what was it that they received? They didn't receive the Ten Commandments.

like Moses did, that was like his blueprints, was all of this law, all of this regulation, all of this description of how to worship.

But when those three apostles were on the mountaintop with Jesus, they basically heard one simple thing, which was, this is my beloved son, hear him.

Like, listen to him.

And so our instruction is to listen to Jesus.
